Born February 12, 1809 in Shrewsbury, England, he was a religious man fresh out of divinity school when he began his voyage on the HMS Beagle, a scientific survey expedition to South America and the South Seas.
Evolution was generally accepted by the scientific community by the 1870s, after his book, On the Origin of Species, was published in 1859. Before this, the concept of Transmutation of Species was brought up and widely shunned.
Darwin conceived his concept of natural selection after collecting fossils during his voyage on the HMS Beagle in 1838.
He died in 1882 and was buried in Westminster Abbey, close to John Herschel and Isaac Newton. In 2008, the Church of England issued him an apology.
Whether your believe in his ideas or not, you cannot deny that he was a pioneer and forward thinking individual and has given us a greater understanding of our world and how we came to be here.

NAR – The New Apostolic Reformation. Think about that for a second. Reformation, to reform. Apostolic, of apostles and prophets. So what is the NAR? I’ll give you a few links so you can read for yourself, but in a nutshell – they’re nuts. They honestly believe that the problems that we have in this world are being caused by demonic forces. And the scariest part is that the group and those associated with the group are infiltrating all elements of our lives. Politics, entertainment, family – just to name a few.
They believe in spiritual warfare. They are trying to bring about the kingdom of God on Earth. If you aren’t with them, then you’re against them. Even worse, they’re gaining strength in the guise of politics. Michelle Bachman, Rick Perry and Sarah Palin – on the surface they seem to be just what this country needs. That is, until one spouts off something like God is trying to get the politicians’ attention by delivering massive damage to the country by way of hurricanes and floods. Even if I did believe in a god, I’d have a hard time swallowing that one, Michelle.
As I sit back and read deeper into this information, I’m struck by some similarities of a show that is one of my favorites. Members of the NAR are attempting to advance the end times (something that I would have thought would come from someone in Iran or another middle eastern country). I remember a group on the show Supernatural that wanted to advance the end times. They were tired of fighting, tired of being looked upon as second class beings as opposed to the humans on the planet. They believed their father was no longer there for them and they wanted to bring about Armageddon. These were angels, folks, stylized in the most basic of human deprevity that one can impose on something that is supposed to be so powerful.
So this begs the question, as least for me. Do these members of the NAR believe they are doing their god’s work? Do they consider themselves angelic (and yes, I realize I’m comparing them to a fictitious television series, but in my book, the bible is pure fiction as well, so it fits).
When I first started making my own decisions on who should get my vote to lead this great nation of ours, I always sided with the Republicans. To this very day, I believe that Ronald Reagan was the best president of the 20th century. I felt somewhat betrayed by George W. Bush, but still admire him for what he had to go through with 9/11. Obama is a damned moron, plain and simple. He talks a good game for sure, but that’s the problem – he’s all talk and takes no real responsibility. But with the heavy hitters in the Republican party being connected to the NAR, that provides me with a serious dilemma.
I don’t want Obama back in the White House for a 2nd term. But I sure as hell don’t want someone like Bachman, Perry or Palin (yes, I know she hasn’t said she’s running) in there as well. So, free thinkers, where does that leave us? Here’s what I think. We need to make sure that as many people as we can tell know about the NAR and who is connected to them. I don’t care if someone calls themselves a Christian, they should know and they should be enlightened as to what this could mean for our future rights.
Below are two very good links that explain in better detail what I’ve said here. Check them out and learn for yourself. For all free thinkers in this great country, we shouldn’t be worried about the Muslims. We should be worried about those that claim they are going to protect us. Protect us and fight for us, yes – but at what cost to us?
